Some reviews from last weeks comics!!

Last Week's Comics Reviewed: http://t.co/gl7oJ1n6 #comics -- ActionComics (@ActionComics)

Detective Comics #4

It all comes down to this, Batman as been captured by the dollmaker and put on stings like a puppet to fight a numerous amount of thugs that are posing as the Joker but being batman he can take te odds. This issue is the last issue we see the Dollmaker in, well for now, and also ends his story leading u to another famous batman villain that we have seen in his own comic this last few months. this issue was a great read but somehow left me wanting more from the dollmaker he is a very creepy villain with some sick plans. witout spoiling anything i know it wont be the last we see of him and what ever happend to the joker, there are some plot holes left to be filled that I hope will resurface in the next few months.

Tony Daniel and the team have done a fantastic job with Detective Comics and is standing true to being the flagship of DC's New 52 everything from the writting and artwork is fantastic and brings batman to life. its sad to see the dollmaker story end so early but i know there will be a lo of good villiains to come over the next few months. Batman fans will not be dissapointed and with the new fans jumping on board the batmobile its a great place to start and get to know the Dark Knight more with these issues.

Overall I love Detective Comics and continue to subscribe to it (even if i get it a few days late, the joys of living in the uk) and keep the series going and have to say Batman comics is doing just as good a job as detective comics, now what would superman have to say about that? next review Action Comics #4

Action Comics #1 Review

More from the DC New 52 this time the home of Superman, Action Comics. Now when Superman’s eyes are glowing red you know he’s pissed and that’s how it all starts. Superman is the most famous of all the comic book Hero’s followed closely by Batman and Spider-man with this new reboot we see how the Metropolis Police are after Superman and because its a reboot they don’t fully know what his powers are or what he can do and people tend to fear what they don’t understand so naturally they try to take superman down with no success.

When you fist see superman you notice that this is a slight change to his attire. instead of the famous suit that he wears he has a t-shirt with the famous S, the signature cape but instead of the blue tights he wears blue jeans. this makes the character look like he is just new to the crime fighting game, even if the army are after him in tanks.we also get to see the new Lex Luthor who is as he always was, big bad and bald. he also has as always some of the best dialogue in the comic finishing with “I give you, superman!” this is always great to hear and also shows maybe the start of the rivalry between superman and Lex.
Some people may find it strange that Superman’s arch nemesis has no powers but its always played well with the mind over muscle routine superman always ruses in to save the day but can forget it comes with a price, this shows us how human superman has become.

This is another great read and a great start for superman, don’t want to give any spoilers away again but Lois is back but a few changes has been made also Clark makes reference to the farm on Smallville maybe indicating that his childhood has stayed the same also want to say about the city. Like Gotham City, Metropolis has a sort of magic about it something im always happy to see is fictional cities in comics and not real cities like New York as it adds to the fantasy and gives the comic a lot more character Metropolis being a huge industrial city from the 1920’s movie of the same name is perfect for superman and the likes of Gotham being dark and Gothic for batman. Another great start for the DC New 52.

Justice League #1 Review DC New52

*SPOILER ALERT*
The new reboot of the Justice League gets to a good start this week as DC comics New52. The story starts of with my personal favourite hero, the Batman, he is on the run chasing a robot that looks like a scarecrow outfit shouting fire at batman but this is not all that's chasing the new enemy but Gotham police are too in state of the art helicopters but they are not only chasing the robot they are chasing batman too. In this part of the DC story line it appears that the Gotham police are not fond of Batman and maybe afraid of what he can do. The Green Lantern soon shows up and claims that he is saving Batman but Batman finds him more of a target and a flashing green target on Batman is not something he likes.

The playful Rivalry that Lantern and Batman have is fun to read with batman going as far to insult Lantern by taking off his ring leaving him powerless. The story tells us that the Justice league has not formed as Lantern cant believe that batman has no Superpowers and none of them have even met Superman yet just heard of him and what he can do (which batman is not comfortable with as he finds superman dangerous) the story unfolds with Lantern and Batman getting the rest of the team together and iv'e heard some complaints about this but from my own perspective it's what I expected and am happy with the outcome of events and was an entertaining read and that's what matters.

The art style is a joy to look at and one of the best iv'e seen so far with DC's new 52 and Geoff Johns has done a great job rebuilding the story of the Justice League. When reading it ask's questions about Superman and what state is he in, the man that stands for truth and justice should be the best friend batman need but in the end it leaves us with a cliffhanger that keeps us waiting to see what will happen next. In the next Issue will we see The batman try and take on the Superman? we shall see...

Detective Comics Issue #1

This week DC comics have don a reboot of all the hero's and villains and what a better wat to kick this off than with the Dark Knight himself, Batman. With Detective Comics being the home of Batman it seams fitting and not to mention he, along with superman, is the most iconic comic book hero in history. what sets Batman apart from the rest is that he has no superpowers which a lot of people can relate to, what happens when you push a man to the edge? you get Batman!

Now being a fan of both Marvel and DC marvel do make great hero's and good villains but I cant help but feel that the Marvel villains are made to lose were as the DC villains are made to break the hero completely and are also giving a more meaningful back story. Most of histories biggest Villains come from the Batman comics, everyone knows who the Joker is even if you don't read/watch Batman were as with the likes of Spider-man everyone knows him but maybe not the likes of the green goblin. Were DC gets it right is the giving a Hero the perfect Villain there could be no Batman without the Joker they are the yin to each others yang.

Batman's back story is famous his parents shot and killed in front of him and this brings out the darkness within him and how many villains do you know that are scared of the hero? Batman is a frighting image and really done well in this new reboot of Detective Comics not to spoil anything but the Batman starts off by inturupting him as he murders a man stabbing him brutally before making his escape and that's were the story goes to the end but its what happens in between that's the edge of you seat read that you get when reading about The Joker and has a great cliffhanger with a new Villain that will keep guessing until the next issue comes out.

Ok its not the best comic of the batman series but is perfect to start the new series and much what you would expect from the worlds greatest detective, if you like batman get this book as it is not just a part of batman history but a part of comic book history as like I said this is the 1st  time we have seen a DC reboot and is something exciting
